a pronouncement. to say it is so. to move breath from inside, upside, downside, to carry out. to carry voice, which is air, which is thought, which is color, which is texture, which carries through the bodyself, to exist outside the bodyself

to be heard, listened to, to bring to bring to you to bring to you with/without effort. it has been uttered. a bringing of me to you, the other one

12.26 is pleased to present Molly Larkey: Utterance. Consisting of materials including stucco, house paint and welded steel, Larkey’s multifaceted shapes are meditations on the sounds that escape between held breaths; poetry written in the language of geometric forms and tactile colors; suggestions of generosity within discrete edges; swaths of color that come in and out of perception; lines that twist and change, by turns strident and quiet.

Molly Larkey (b. 1971, Los Angeles) received an MFA from Rutgers University, New Jersey and a BA from Columbia College, New York. Her work has been featured in exhibitions at PS1 MoMA, New York; The Drawing Center, New York; Crystal Bridges, Bentonville, AR; Ochi Gallery, Ketchum, ID and Los Angeles; Luis de Jesus Los Angeles; Human Resources, Los Angeles; Commonwealth & Council, Los Angeles; Dutton Gallery, New York, among others. Her writing has been featured in Los Angeles Review of Books, CARLA, and Haunt Journal of Art. Utterance marks the artist’s first exhibition in Texas.
