Theodora Allen’s meticulous compositions harmonize realist and graphic imagery to form an uncanny landscape—a confluence between the natural world and a metaphysical one. Her distinct visual language, rooted in emblematic, esoteric, and personal sources, are ciphers for narratives both eternal and intimate. In recent bodies of work, shooting stars, psychotropic plants, and classical armor, are woven together with distilled symbols of time and devotion; hourglasses, hearts. At once sensuous and ascetic, with lapidary-like precision and coded logic, the compositions explore themes of cycles and regeneration, nudging the realm of sacred text. Through her evanescent surfaces and a cool palate of blue and steely gray, Allen's rigorous method of painting pushes the evocative imagery further toward the ethereal: Many thin layers of oil paint are applied and removed until the fabric itself becomes weathered. In this action, an interior light source is alternately dimmed or revealed, while an on-going mediation between defining and dissolving the picture plane unfolds.

Theodora Allen (b. 1985, Los Angeles, CA) received her MFA in painting from the University of California (2014) and her BFA in painting from ArtCenter College of Design (2009). In 2011, she completed a residency at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Madison, ME. Recent solo exhibitions include: Soccer Club Club, Chicago, IL (2023); Blum & Poe, Los Angeles, CA (2022); 12.26, Dallas, TX (2020); Kasmin, New York, NY (2019), among others. Recent museum exhibitions include Gimlet Eye, Huset for Kunst & Design, Denmark (2022) and Saturnine, which was first exhibited at the Kunsthal Aarhus in Denmark (2021) and later traveled to the Driehaus Museum in Chicago (2022). This exhibition was accompanied by a book of the same name, which also serves as the first published monograph of Allen’s work. In 2021, Allen was an Artist in Residence at 100W Artist & Writer Residency in Corsicana, TX. Allen’s work resides in the permanent collection of the Dallas Museum of Art. Allen currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA

Sean Cairns typically portrays romantic and tranquil scenes of nature juxtaposed against the animated pulse of human activity. His vibrantly colored and rustic landscapes, which are inspired by color field painting and German expressionist painters, often reference or pay homage to his upbringing in the Midwest. Flat, rolling hills, sprawling farmland and vast prairies frequently dominate his canvases. Cairns typically utilizes sand, collage, pointillist, flat or impasto painting techniques to convey objects, surfaces, or landscapes. Through these techniques, he is able to blur the lines between the painted and the perceived, inviting viewers to traverse the realm where art and reality intertwine.

Sean Cairns (b. 1988, Sparta, IL) lives and works in Dallas, TX. Cairns received his MFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (2014) and his BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (2011). Cairns has presented solo exhibitions with Shrine, New York, NY (2025); 12.26, Dallas, TX (2024); Valley House Gallery, Dallas, TX (2023, 2021), among others. Cairns’ work resides in the permanent collection of the Dallas Museum of Art.

J.A Feng's paintings provocatively convey the quintessence of the human experience: creation, decay and regeneration. Feng seamlessly interweaves these narratives of existence with tender, humorous, and vulnerable threads, culminating in microcosmic universes within her canvases. Initiating her paintings with rudimentary sketches or visual prompts, Feng embraces an open-ended approach, affording her the latitude to dictate the content and unique internal logic inherent to each piece. Her exploratory methodology facilitates the discovery and illustration of congruities between ostensibly disparate subject matter, yielding an intricate tapestry of literal and metaphorical parallels. Through the utilization of an additive process, Feng constructs and refines color and imagery in layers of paint, resulting in a final surface that manifests the temporal and energetic investments of her creative endeavor. The completed works oscillate between specificity and indeterminacy, inviting the viewer to embark on an introspective journey with each piece. Emotional narratives of transformation, vulnerability, and humor permeate Feng's canvases.

J.A Feng (b. 1982, Champaign, IL) received her MFA from Boston University (2015) and completed her residency at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (2016). Recent solo exhibitions include: 12.26, Dallas, TX (2023 and 2020) and Philip Martin Gallery, Los Angeles (2022). Recent group exhibitions include DC Moore, New York, NY (2023); Nathalie Karg, New York, NY (2022); Eric Firestone Gallery, New York, NY (2022); Harkawik, New York, NY (2022); Tops Gallery, Memphis, TN (2022) and North Loop, Williamstown, MA (2022). In 2021, Feng was an Artist in Residence at the Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program in Brooklyn, New York. Feng has also received fellowships from NYSCA/NYFA (2021); Shandaken Paint School (2020) and NARS Foundation (2017). Feng currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

Drawing from art history, Kevin Ford has established a rich inner reservoir of images from which he selects elements for his paintings. Employing a variety of methods, like commercial spray tools, brushes and rags, Ford overlays, erases, and enhances the canvas until the depiction achieves their desired state. His paintings exhibit a transformation, oscillating between the abstract and the tangible, seamlessly blending the foreign with the known.

Kevin Ford (b. 1975, Samford, CT) received his MFA in Painting from Yale University, New Haven, CT (1999) and his BFA in Painting from Boston University (1997). Recent solo exhibitions include: 12.26, Dallas, TX (2023 and 2021); Hesse Flatow, New York, NY (2022); Tops Gallery, Memphis, TN (2021); Semiose Gallerie, Paris (2020); Kate Werble Gallery, New York, NY (2020), among others. Recent group exhibitions include: Subtitled, Brooklyn, NY (2023); The Norwalk Art Space, Norwalk, CT (2023), Reyes Finn, Detroit, MI (2021), among others. Emily Furr’s work is an exploration of restoring the feminine archetype and embracing a new era rooted in the yonic symbolism. Delving into her enduring interest in machine imagery as a vehicle for articulating the human condition, she often charges the objects in her paintings with a sensual, bodiless power, both forms and the void that surrounds them become anthropomorphic depictions of human relations.
Emily Furr (b. 1978, St. Louis, MO) received her MFA from Hunter College, New York, NY (2018). Recent solo exhibitions include: 12.26, Dallas, TX (2023 and 2020) and 12.26 West, Los Angeles, CA (2021 and 2022); Rebecca Camacho Presents, San Francisco, CA (2021); Sargent’s Daughters, New York (2018, 2022 and 2020). Recent group exhibitions include Sargent’s Daughters, Los Angeles, CA (2023); Office Baroque, Antwerp (2023); Galerie Hussenot, Paris, France (2021); Maria Bernheim Gallery, Zurich, Switzerland (2019); Achenbach Hagemeier, Berlin, Germany (2019), among others. Recent solo art fair presentations include EXPO Chicago (2023), The Armory Show (2022), Marfa Invitational (2019) and NADA Miami (2018). In February of 2021, Furr opened her first museum solo exhibition at SCAD Museum, Savannah, GA entitled Star Tap, curated by Ariella Wolens. In 2019, Furr was an Artist in Residence at the Watermill Center, Watermill, NY. Furr’s work resides in the permanent collection of the Orange County Museum of Art, Orange County, CA.
