12.26 presents A Big, Big Love, a solo exhibition by Walker Walls Tarver and the first exhibition as part of our new series called Cabinet.

A Big, Big Love, continues Walls Tarver’s meditations on performativity - navigating the edges where existence and performance overlap. A Big, Big Love, invites viewers to pass between the “as if” and the “is,” to vacillate between performer and spectator; to consider the gaps that riddle this spectacle of existing, witnessing, and belonging.

To this end, A Big, Big Love, employs performativity as a lens through which we can transmit knowledge, memory, and identity. In eschewing the physical gallery space, this online platform becomes a commentary on the nature of presentation and spectatorship in the digital age. A Big, Big Love, thus serves as both subject and object; a performative gesture in itself that challenges traditional modes of art consumption.

Walker Walls Tarver (b.1995, Palo Alto, CA) lives and works between New York, San Antonio, and Colorado Springs. She received an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Recent solo and two-person presentations include, Mouse Gallery (Detroit, MI, 2024) and April April (Brooklyn, NY, 2023) She is currently visiting faculty at Colorado College.
