12.26 is please to present new paintings by L.A.-based, multidisciplinary artist Ida Badal. For this presentation Badal continues her exploration of time as well as her fascination with embedded messages and signs that represent specific psychological spaces. Employing geometric-shaped canvases, she presents us with symbols of attention and awareness of one’s surroundings, but unlike road signs, Badal offers us no direct cues. Removing the traditional horizontal line within a landscape and forming new patterns, each painting disorients the viewer and challenges them to interpret the information given and connect her specific memories to a larger collective experience.
